InterContinental Edinburgh The George

  • 225 Rooms, 15 Suites

InterContinental Edinburgh The George is a collection of five, fine Georgian townhouses that were originally built in the 18th century, but the property has been a grand hotel - fondly known as “The George” - since 1881. Located in the heart of the New Town of Edinburgh, this elegant hotel is minutes away from Edinburgh’s top attractions, an array of great restaurants, bars and shopping boutiques.

With our proud connections to literary legends such as Rabbie Burns, Sir Walter Scott and Scotland’s answer to Jane Austin, Susan Ferrier, the hotel is full of charming character in our rooms, spaces and more importantly, in our hospitality.

Our Printing Press restaurant, originally a newspaper office and workshop, is open from breakfast and throughout the day serving lunch and dinner. Our bar team are on hand to guide you through Scotland's national tipple, whisky or create a favourite cocktail for guests to enjoy while taking a break from sight seeing and soaking up the historic atmosphere of Edinburgh's glorious new town.
