Our millennium old castle was transformed into an independent family run 36-room and suite hotel and is very much the star of the private Reschio Estate. The family has spent the past thirty years preserving the natural environment of the 3,750 acres (1,500 hectares) on the borders of Umbria and Tuscany and protecting the ancient olive groves, vineyards and extensive oak and chestnut forests. Today, as well as Hotel Castello di Reschio, there are 28 houses that have risen from the ruins to become exquisite private houses designed to the highest international standards, eight of these are available for rent. Integral to Reschio is a unique combination of world class service and a high level of privacy and security.
The Estate facilities include horse riding and training, tennis, mountain biking, and clay pigeon shooting -- to name a few. We can arrange visits to local vineyards, private guides, or book massages, yoga lessons, exclusive use of the Reschio Lake with the possibility of a picnic or BBQ, and many more services both on and off the estate.

Accommodations
All rooms at Hotel Castello di Reschio feature wood beam ceilings and floors in reclaimed terracotta and/or wood. The fabrics used are all linen in different colors, and together with ‘B.B. for Reschio’ custom-made furniture and selected antiques, they provide a special character to each room.
Room
Our rooms are all situated inside the castle, on the ground floor and second floor. The custom-designed furniture by ‘B.B. for Reschio’ include the four poster Campaign Bed (king bed in all rooms), a bar, the wash basin stand, and in most rooms, the Dressing Table. Size of rooms starts from 30 square meters.
Grand Room
Situated within the heart of the castle, these rooms are grand and spacious. Purposefully designed to encourage guests to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of being within their room. They have the custom designed furniture by ‘B.B. for Reschio’, including the four poster Campaign Bed (king-size), a bar, the wash basin stand and the dressing table to complement the antique pieces. Some rooms are a little more quirky than others but all contain history from the family that once lived here, from photographs to paintings or sculpture. Size of rooms starts from 50 square meters.
Suite Castello
The Suites are all in the castle, on either the ground, first or second floors. The custom-designed furniture by ‘B.B. for Reschio’ include the four poster Campaign Bed (one suite has twin beds, all others have king beds), a bar, the wash basin stand, and in all rooms the Dressing Table. In some rooms there is a day bed, in others the dumb valet or a chaise longue. All rooms have a bath tub, either in the bedroom or in the bathroom. Size of rooms starts from 60 square meters.
Suite San Michele
The San Michele Suites are housed in what used to be the priest’s home, next to the San Michele church and the castle. The suites are divided on three floors and upper floors are reached by a staircase or elevator. The custom-designed furniture by ‘B.B. for Reschio’ includes the four poster Campaign Bed, a bar, the wash basin stand, and in most rooms, the Dressing Table. All rooms have a bath tub, either in the bedroom or in the bathroom. Occupancy 2 or 3 persons. Size of rooms starts from 55 square meters.
Grand Suite
The Grand Suites are housed inside the castle, on the first and second floors. The custom-designed furniture by ‘B.B. for Reschio’ includes the four poster Campaign Bed, a bar, the wash basin stand, and in all rooms, the Dressing Table. In some rooms there is a day bed; in others, the Dumb Valet. All rooms have a bath tub, either in the bedroom or in the bathroom. Some rooms have a fireplace. Occupancy 2 or 3 persons. Size of rooms starts from 85 square meters.
Tower Suite
The largest accommodation of the hotel is situated inside the highest tower of the castle and spread over 5 floors. The Tower Suite is the only one with two bedrooms and features a private terrace on the top floor with spectacular 360° views over most of the Reschio estate. The custom-designed furniture by ‘B.B. for Reschio’ includes the four poster Campaign Bed, a bar, the wash basin stand, and the Dressing Table. The tub is on the rooftop terrace. There is no elevator in this one-of-a-kind suite. Size of room is 180 square meters.

Ristorante Alle Scuderie
Step into the cool shade of Alle Scuderie and take a seat amongst the lofty fern trees, head out onto the broad terrace, or perch at the long, marble Bar Centrale. With its soaring ceilings, hand-crafted furniture and wide-reaching views, it exudes an air of old-world Italian glamour. Our organic kitchen garden does most of the hard work here, which combined with the freshest local produce, creates simple menus with elegant touches and pizzas straight from our outdoor oven. Bar Centrale is just the place to pause for a pre-dinner cocktail or post-dinner drink.
Bar Centrale
The centerpiece of the restaurant is undoubtedly the ‘Bar Centrale’. Almost an artwork in its own right, the bar represents the perfect union of Benedikt’s design vision combined with the master craftsmanship of Reschio’s own woodworkers, blacksmiths, and stonemasons. Exuding an air of old-world Italian glamour, the bar has become the natural meeting place for those on the Estate at different times of the day. Whether calling in for a macchiato in the late morning or enjoying a Negroni in the evening, the bar is the perfect backdrop to any stay at Reschio.
Ristorante Al Castello
Built into the western ramparts of our ancient castle, Al Castello has breathtaking views over the countryside, with front-row seats come sunset. Inside is a stylish, pared-back restaurant, with huge doors that open up on the terrace, bringing the outside in. Fig trees dot the expansive terrace, perfect for outdoor meals under the stars. All is local, versatile, seasonal and sustainable, with breakfast and dinner available to our hotel and house guests and their visitors.
Il Torrino
It’s amazing what you can do with a watchtower. What once played an important role in the protection of our ancient castle is today Reschio’s chic pool bar, the perfect spot to try one of our freshly-made juices or cocktails. A breezy bar area, outside deck and little niches for guests to cozy up in provide relaxed dining, with made-on-the-spot panini, just-picked salads and fruit from the estate.
Palm Court
Soaring to the skies on one side of the castle courtyard is our beautiful Palm Court, with lofty iron columns and a glass ceiling creating an epic, turn-of-the-century-style space. Wander in for a sharpener on arrival and take in the ancient stones of the castle, peruse our retro-cool afternoon tea trolley – or just kick back with an icy glass of something delicious and a book from the library.
