Following its grand debut in the roaring '20s, Hotel Georgia came to be known as a Vancouver legend for bringing unheard-of luxuries to the young city and Canada’s West Coast.
Over the decades, the legendary Hotel Georgia played host to a long list of Hollywood and royalty, from John and Ethel Barrymore, Marlene Dietrich (and her 40 suitcases) and Errol Flynn to Sir Laurence Olivier, John Wayne and Gary Cooper. But, the red carpet was literally rolled out for two of the hotel’s earliest guests—British royalty, indeed. HRH Edward, Prince of Wales and his brother George, the Duke of Kent stayed in 1927 while in Vancouver for the Seaforth Highlander’s Ball, a gala event celebrated at the hotel.
In the Jazz Era, radio was king. For over a decade up to 1941, British Columbia’s most popular radio station, CKWX, broadcast from its studio on the penthouse level of the Hotel Georgia. Why? When it debuted in 1927, the hotel was the very definition of innovation, from its all-electric kitchen to its extra-long beds for guests of tall stature, and it offered the radio station the finest wiring in town capable of delivering the Jazz and Big Band melodies from downstairs direct to the station above.
When Katharine Hepburn strode into the hotel’s lobby for the first time in 1950, the indomitable screen legend handed the manager, Mr. Bill Hudson, her list of requirements and, in doing so, introduced late-night room service at the Hotel Georgia. Preferring to retire for dinner in the privacy of her room, she did not care to frequent the dining room or any other local establishment. Wearing her trademark pants because she didn’t own a dress, the trail-blazing Ms. Hepburn stepped into the elevator, and that was that.
Entertainment impresario Hugh Pickett’s favorite place to host the immortals of show business he welcomed to Vancouver—from titans of entertainment such as Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Rat Packers Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr., and the Rolling Stones, to the divas and prima donnas of opera and ballet—was the Hotel Georgia. By mid-century, the young city of Vancouver was a must for performers as well as a destination of choice for well-heeled travelers. Most of Bing Crosby’s stopovers in the city were en route to Canada’s salmon fishing grounds further north. In 1957, the year Elvis Presley recorded "All Shook Up" and filmed the classic "Jailhouse Rock," he also rock 'n' rolled his way to Hotel Georgia’s penthouse suite.

Located on each floor of the hotel, our Suites are ideal for business travelers preferring a separate work area or small families in need of additional space. Starting from 585 sq. ft., they provide a spacious parlor sitting room with a living area and writing desk. The five-fixture bathroom is complete with a fully tiled walk-in rain forest shower, a large luxurious soaker tub, dual sink vanities and a separate toilet area. There is also an en-suite bathroom off the sitting room and a walk-in closet in the bedroom in these Vancouver hotel suites.
Superior Room
Spacious and elegant, the Superior Rooms offer either a king-size bed or two double beds with a fully tiled walk-in, rainforest shower. With 325 to 400 sq. ft. of living space, the rooms feature views of the soothing inner court water feature or stunning cityscapes overlooking Howe Street to the east (Superior Rooms with double beds only).
Deluxe room
Soothing earth tones and warm pastels are a welcoming touch to Rosewood Hotel Georgia’s Deluxe Rooms. Spanning 410 to 465 sq. ft., the rooms feature five-fixture bathrooms, a fully tiled walk-in rainforest shower, a large luxurious soaker tub (in Deluxe king-bedded rooms only), dual sink vanities and a separate toilet area. Guests are greeted with stunning cityscape views overlooking Howe Street to the east and the historic Vancouver Art Gallery to the south.
Junior Suite

These corner one-bedroom suites are 835 to 875 sq. ft., offering two distinct rooms: a bedroom with king-size bed and a living area with sofa, chairs, side table, writing desk and en-suite bathroom. The accommodation's five-fixture bathroom is complete with a fully tiled walk-in rainforest shower, a large luxurious soaker tub, dual sink vanities and a separate toilet area.
Rosewood Suite
Rosewood Hotel Georgia’s signature accommodation, the two-bedroom Rosewood Suite is the pinnacle of luxury and elegance. Spanning 1,492 sq. ft. across the 12th floor, this Vancouver hotel suite offers a stunning private rooftop garden terrace with a plunge pool and fireplace. Guests can delight in the unobstructed views along Georgia Street to the south and comfortably host receptions for up to 20 guests. The suite's spacious living room features a seating area with adjoining en-suite bathroom and a dining area that seats eight. The king-bedded master bedroom connects to a five-fixture bathroom complete with a fully tiled walk-in rain forest shower fixture, a large luxurious soaker tub, dual sink vanities and a separate toilet area. The double-bedded second bedroom offers a fully marbled walk-in rainforest shower. The Rosewood Suite can also join to an additional Superior room to create a three-bedroom suite.
Lord Stanley Suite
The Lord Stanley 2 bedroom Suite provides the utmost comfort and luxury, stretching 1,280 sq. ft. and featuring a private rooftop garden terrace boasting a plunge pool and fireplace. Located on the 12th floor, the terrace allows unobstructed views along Howe Street to the east and Georgia Street to the south and is large enough to host a reception for up to 20 guests. The large living room contains a seating area with adjoining en-suite bathroom and a dining area that accommodates eight people. The Lord Stanley Suite also provides a king-size bed and a five-fixture bathroom complete with a fully tiled walk-in rainforest shower, a large luxurious soaker tub, dual sink vanities and a separate toilet area. The luxurious 500-square-foot Premier Executive Rooms are located on the southwest corner of each floor, offering a distinctive view of the historic Vancouver Art Gallery.
