The Newbury Boston

  • 196 Rooms, 90 Suites

The Newbury Boston, located in the city’s elegant and vibrant Back Bay, has been transformed following a dramatic renovation and restoration that debuted in May 2021. Originally opened in 1927 as one of the first Ritz Carlton hotels in the United States, this iconic Boston landmark features a thoughtful new floor plan, dramatic public spaces, 286 redesigned guestrooms (including 90 suites), 16,000 square feet of stunning event space and new food and beverage experiences.

The hotel design embraces the rich heritage of the building and celebrates its timeless details. The Newbury Street entrance has been reimagined with an elegant landscaped terrace plaza. Dramatic window awnings and lighting enhance the hotel’s neoclassical façade and highlight its distinctive historic details. Many of the building’s historic architectural elements, including its original cobalt blue chandeliers, have been incorporated in the meticulous design and complementing the architectural details is a new contemporary art collection in the hotel’s public spaces.

Residential in feel, each of The Newbury’s 286 guest rooms and suites incorporate a calming color palette and tactile materials. Rooms are appointed with hand-selected, richly textured furnishings and original artwork, along with amenities exclusively curated for guests. Many rooms feature views of the Public Garden and Back Bay. Guests may choose from 90 luxury suites, including 40 with wood burning fireplaces and two dramatic Presidential Suites.

From sophisticated corporate meetings to lavish galas and fundraisers to unforgettable weddings, The Newbury offers an unrivaled location.

In addition to the event space, the food and beverage experience includes The Street Bar and a Library Lounge, available exclusively to hotel guests.
