Torfhús Retreat Culinary Experience
Chef Þórarinn has created a culinary experience he refers to as anti-à la carte, where we bombard guests with a variety of Icelandic dishes in a mixed service style. We offer alternatives for vegetarian and vegan diets.
The starters arrive on the table in mass and in the Swedish style of sharing. The main course is often Icelandic veal, lamb, beef or any of the many fresh Icelandic fish. Desserts come in all shapes and sizes but always leave you with a sweet tooth longing for more.
We pride ourselves on only offering our guests a variation of locally sourced meat from farmers. Iceland is blessed with its thriving marine life where the fish and seafood are considered among the most desired in the world -- the cod, haddock, halibut, salmon, trout, shrimp, langoustine, etc.
In our area of Bláskógabyggð, there is an ample amount of geothermal heat which is harnessed to power production of vegetables.
