The Ned Doha

Originally designed by acclaimed Lebanese architect William Sednaoui in the 1960s, the building now features members’ spaces, 90 bedrooms and suites, and seven restaurants and lounges, along with a health club, spa, gym, and private event spaces. In partnership with renowned architect David Chipperfield, the building was remodelled with the goal of retaining the structure of the old Ministry of Interior building. Since the property is one of the most historically important in the destination, all renovations and design touch points were implemented in line with Qatar’s mission to preserve, modernise, and repurpose its significant buildings.

How It All Began
The Ned originated in the former Midland Bank headquarters in London, designed by Sir Edwin ‘Ned’ Lutyens in 1924.The opening of The Ned London in 2017 was ambitious, with the transformation taking five years.

The Ned expanded in the summer 2022 to include The Ned NoMad in New York which is housed in The Johnston Building. Originally built in 1903 as a store and office, the historic building is a formidable limestone-faced landmark adorned with Beaux Arts motifs and exudes the old-world glamour and historic stature synonymous with The Ned brand. In late 2022, The Ned Doha opened its doors in Qatar.

Recently, in early 2025, Ned’s Club Washington, DC started its operation with a luxurious private members’ club located in President’s Park, just steps away from the White House. It occupies the top three floors of the Milken Center at 734 15th Street NW.
