NEW Hotel opened its doors in July 2011 and is located in the heart of Athens, within walking distance of the city’s main attractions. Situated between the traditional district of Plaka, with its ancient Roman ruins, and the contemporary Kolonaki neighborhood, with its modern galleries and fashion boutiques, NEW Hotel bridges the old and the new.
This 79-room and suites establishment is one of the city’s finest examples of modern architecture. Located in the former Olympic Palace Hotel, NEW Hotel embraces the heritage of its past by using recycled parts of the old hotel and reinterpreted local materials to create a complete work of art, making it a standout contemporary hotel in the city of Athens. The old elements of the past are cleverly contrasted with a blend of modern art, sculpture, and design on the inside. The interiors are outstanding, with unusual custom-made furniture and handmade fixtures that make guests feel as though they are immersed in a major art installation.
An entirely new approach with energetic hospitality and customer-centered services, NEW Hotel is the first hotel project of award-winning designer duo Fernando and Humberto Campana, who were commissioned for their eco-friendly ethos, love for contemporary materials, and sensitivity to local culture.
