Cap Rocat

This national monument set on 88 acres of private land and 2 km of private coastline, also a Nature Park with very special bird and sea life, was created from a former 19th century military fortress stunningly blended into the landscape. Cap Rocat was so ingeniously built into the cliffs that despite its huge walls and ramparts, the building cannot be seen from the mainland or the sea. Only the canopies of the rooftop lounges on the terrace are visible on the horizon. This unique hotel retains and highlights some of the original defensive strategies, like a drawbridge, bunkers and trenches. And the former shooting pads were converted into suites; each with their own private patio and terraces. Inside the peaceful and cool lounges, the creator of the concept, Antonio Obrador uses local fabrics, Moroccan rugs and vintage black and white photos of Mallorca to brilliant effect. Cap Rocat is all about simple luxury, identity and a complete lack of ostentation.

SEA CLUB is an open-air restaurant located on the waterfront, in the spectacular “Cala de la Reina”, with a traditional Mallorcan firewood oven and grill, where handpicked local product are cooked the Mediterranean way. LA FORTALEZA a gourmet restaurant is located in the big dining room. The cuisine, that changes with the seasons, is based on traditional Mallorcan recipes with the twist that only a young chef can give.

A wide conservatory-style glass ceiling will allow the brilliant Mallorca sunshine to flood the space by day, while by night, the clear star-filled skies will create a mesmerizing place to swim. Seven treatment rooms will each work as a haven of peace and calm - places to totally escape. Cap Rocat’ s wellness team has devised a house range of products using local, natural ingredients, including Mallorca citric, almonds and extra virgin olive oil to be used in body, facial and sports treatments.
