Sofitel London St James has one of the best addresses of any London hotel and even shares the same postcode as Buckingham Palace. Originally designed to house the headquarters of Cox and King’s bank in 1923, the hotel is a magnificent example of neoclassical architecture. The striking Grade II listed building became a flagship Sofitel in 2002 under the direction of world-renowned designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who transformed the former bank into a sophisticated destination. More recently, Rochon was invited back to redesign the hotel’s multi-million-pound renovation in 2019, adding new layers of comfort and luxury. The property’s overhaul included a vibrant new design across its rooms, Rose Lounge, St James Bar, plus the addition of Michelin starred restaurant Wild Honey St James. The hotel is also home to the award-winning Sofitel Spa.

The Luxury room is about 345 square feet and includes a King or two Single beds. Most luxury rooms overlook Waterloo Place or Pall Mall. These rooms include a large arm chair, Sofitel MyBed, and writing desk, as well as a bathroom with separate bath tub and walk in shower. There are interconnecting options available.
Prestige Suite
The Prestige Suite is about 645 square feet and offers a King-size bedroom with separate lounge area and sofa. Overlooking Pall Mall or Waterloo Place, the lounge includes a spacious desk, high definition flat screen television, and Roberts docking station with iPod connection. There are interconnecting options available.
St James Suite
The St James Suite is about 850 square feet with a King-sized bedroom, a separate lounge and overlooks the prestigious buildings of Waterloo Place. The lounge can accommodate a sofa bed and there is a possibility to have an interconnecting Junior Suite. A bathroom with separate bathtub and rain shower.
Deluxe Suite
The Deluxe Suite is about 645 square feet with a King-sized bedroom, and a separate lounge can accommodate a sofa bed. Have a heart-to-heart on the comfortable sofa or an intimate meeting around the coffee table. This suite is a favorite among families looking for space and supreme comfort during a London getaway.
Luxury Premium
The Premium Luxury Room is about 345 square feed with a king size bed, an armchair and footrest, a big desk, and a large bathroom with a walk-in shower separate from the bathtub. It also guarantees a view on either Pall Mall or Waterloo Place. Mineral water, a luxury tea selection and espresso machine are available. There is a possibility to add an extra bed and to have an interconnecting room.
Studio Suite
A Studio Suite is a large open plan room (35 square meters) with a beautiful view on Waterloo Place, a king size bed, a lounge area with a coffee table, a sofa and a bathroom equipped with walk-in shower. In the Studio Suite you will receive a daily amenity, mineral water, a luxury tea selection and espresso machine. There is a possibility to prepare the sofa bed for an extra person and to have an interconnecting room.

Wild Honey St James
Wild Honey St James is an exciting collaboration with renowned chef Anthony Demetre and is a reimagination of his iconic restaurant concept opening on the former site of The Balcon restaurant, offering the finest seasonal British produce and contemporary French cooking. Dining room décor has been redesigned and refurbished by Jim Hamilton Design to reflect this new direction. Head Chef Simon Woodrow has collaborated with Anthony Demetre on menus which feature contemporary French cooking with nods to the British Isle. The duo has worked together previously at the original Wild Honey and Arbutus.
A short set lunch, early evening menu and plat du jour also operate alongside an a la carte selection of dishes. The wine list features approximately 100 bins, covering both new and old world, while there are four drinks available on tap – one red, one white, a Vermouth and a craft beer.
St James Bar
Adjacent to the restaurant, the intimate hotel bar has also undergone a transformation and now boasts a marble bar top, dark blue velvet banquettes, and warm lighting. To complement the bar’s drinks menu and cocktail list, overseen by Bar Manager Enzo Sigaut, Anthony has created a new bar menu with snacks, lighter fare, and larger dishes. As well as oysters, cheese and charcuterie, dishes include Crab croquettes with rouille, Tempura courgette flowers with romesco sauce, and Crisp buttermilk marinated chicken with wild garlic mayonnaise.
The Rose Lounge
The Rose Lounge is a unique place to unwind to the sound of a live harpist while indulging in a mouth-watering afternoon tea. Adding a French touch to the experience, the afternoon tea is served with an impressive selection of pastries.
